Privacy policy
Your information, guarded.
How we collect, use and protect personal data — in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Your trust matters to us. This policy explains what personal information Infection Guard Consulting Limited collects through this website, why we collect it, how we keep it safe and the choices you have.
We collect as little as possible, never sell it, and protect it with the same discipline we bring to infection control.
01
Who we are
Infection Guard Consulting Limited (“IGCL”, “we”, “us”) is a company registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission under RC 8921183. We provide infection prevention and control (IPC) consultancy to hospitals, healthcare systems, government agencies and private-sector organisations.
IGCL is the data controller for personal data collected through infectionguardconsulting.com (the “website”). You can contact us about privacy at any time at info@infectionguardconsulting.com.
02
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you complete our enquiry form, email us, call us or message us on WhatsApp, we may collect:
- Your name, role or job title and the organisation or facility you represent
- Your email address and phone / WhatsApp number
- Your location (city or state), the type of organisation, the service you’re interested in and your preferred way of working
- Anything you choose to tell us in your message
Information collected automatically
- Technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, recorded in standard server logs by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
- Spam-protection data: when you submit the form we store a one-way, encrypted (hashed) version of your IP address for up to one hour to stop automated abuse. We cannot turn it back into your IP address.
- Cookies, as explained in the “Cookies” section below.
03
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation
- To prepare proposals and deliver the services you engage us for
- To keep a record of our communications
- To protect the website against spam, fraud and security threats
- To understand and improve the website — only if you allow analytics cookies
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.
04
Our lawful basis
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (and, where it applies to you, the EU/UK GDPR), we rely on:
- Consent — when you tick the consent box on our form, and for optional analytics or marketing cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Contract — to take steps you ask for before entering into an engagement, and to deliver our services.
- Legitimate interests — to run and secure our website and respond to business correspondence, where this does not override your rights.
- Legal obligation — where we must keep records by law.
05
Who we share it with
We share personal data only where necessary, with trusted providers who process it on our behalf and under appropriate safeguards:
- Website hosting and email providers that store and deliver our site and messages
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to contact us that way — their own privacy policy applies
- Professional advisers (such as accountants or lawyers) where required
- Authorities, if we are legally required to disclose information
Third-party content on our website
To display our pages, your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts and images from Unsplash. These services receive your IP address in order to deliver the files.
06
International transfers
Some of our service providers may store or process data outside Nigeria. Where this happens, we take steps to make sure your data receives an adequate level of protection, as required by the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
07
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement: up to 24 months after our last contact, then deleted.
- Client records: for as long as the engagement lasts and afterwards for as long as the law requires for business and tax records.
- Spam-protection data: up to 1 hour.
- Your cookie choice: 180 days, after which we ask again.
08
How we protect it
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. These include encrypted (HTTPS) connections, a protected enquiry form with spam and abuse controls, restricted administrator-only access to enquiry records, and confidentiality commitments in all client work.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If we become aware of a data breach that affects you, we will notify you and the regulator as the law requires.
09
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your data where there is no good reason for us to keep it
- Restrict or object to how we use your data
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing
To exercise any of these rights, email info@infectionguardconsulting.com. We will respond within the time the law allows. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
